Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22/09/2026
This policy explains, in plain words, what we do (and what we don't do) with data when you use the game "Bolets a la vista" and our website. We wrote it so that families can understand it.
In a nutshell:
- 🍄 The game asks for no sign-up and no account. No email, no name, nothing.
- 💾 Your game progress is saved on your own device. It never travels to any server of ours.
- 🚫 No ads, no tracking, no selling of data. Ever.
- 📊 We only use anonymous, aggregated statistics that Apple and Google give us. We can't identify you.
- ✉️ Only if you voluntarily sign up to the website newsletter do we collect your email. It's for adults only and you can unsubscribe whenever you like.
1. Who is responsible (the data controller)
- Controller: Ramon Forns
- Country: Catalonia (Spain, European Union)
- Contact email: info@boletsalavista.cat
We are an independent, solo developer (not a large company). For any question about your data, email us and we'll reply.
2. A game designed to appeal to children
"Bolets a la vista" is an illustrated, relaxing and educational game. Although it's suitable for everyone, we know it is especially appealing to children. That's why we apply the highest data protection by default and treat the game as if it were directed to children:
- We ask for no personal data inside the game.
- There is no chat, no open social features, and no user-generated content.
- We do no profiling and no interest-based advertising.
3. What we collect NOW (and what we don't)
3.1. Inside the game (iPad and mobile app): no data
- We create no accounts or profiles.
- Your progress and saved games are stored locally only, on your device. If you delete the app, that data goes with it.
- The game sends nothing. No game data travels to any server of ours: your game, your herbarium and the name of your notebook stay on your device and are deleted if you uninstall the app.
3.2. On the website: technical server records and campaign labels
The website, like any website, leaves a technical trace on the server. Our hosting provider logs the requests it receives —date, page and IP address—, as every server in the world does, and shows us an aggregated summary of the number of visits. We do not access it individually, combine it with anything, share it with anyone or use it to profile anyone.
If you arrive from one of our ads, we store one line with the date and the campaign label, without any data about you or any identifier, solely to know which ad worked.
3.3. On the website: the newsletter, if you sign up
The website has an optional form to receive news about the game. If you choose to fill it in, we collect:
| Data | What for |
|---|---|
| Email address | To send you news and version announcements about the game |
| "Do you have an iPad?" / "Do you have Android?" | To know which platforms interest you and notify you when a version is available |
| "Do you want to be a beta tester?" | So we can invite you, if you wish, to try pre-release versions |
- This form is entirely voluntary. If you don't sign up, we collect nothing.
- Newsletter data is handled with Mailchimp (see section 6).
- The newsletter is for adults only (18 or older). When you sign up you must confirm you are 18 or older. If you're a minor and want to keep up to date, ask a responsible adult to subscribe.
3.4. Anonymous statistics and error reports
To understand, in broad terms, how the game is doing (for example, how many people play or whether errors occur), we use only the statistics tools that Apple (App Store Connect / system diagnostics) and Google (Google Play Console) provide us. This means:
- The data reaches us already anonymous and aggregated: we see overall trends, never who you are.
- We use no third-party analytics tools, no device or advertising identifiers, and we don't track you across apps.
- The error reports we receive contain no data that can identify you.
4. Why we use data and on what legal basis
| Processing | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Website newsletter | Sending you communications about the game that you asked for | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you sign up and withdrawable at any time |
The statistics and error reports in section 3.3 are anonymous and aggregated: because they can't identify any individual, they aren't considered personal data. We do not use your data for any other purpose, we do not combine it with other sources, and we do not sell it.
5. Who we share data with
- Inside the game: no one (we collect nothing).
- Newsletter: only with the provider that helps us send it (Mailchimp / Intuit), which acts as a data processor following our instructions.
We never sell or hand over your data for third-party advertising.
6. The newsletter and Mailchimp (international transfers)
The newsletter is sent using Mailchimp, a service by Intuit Inc. with servers in the United States. This means an international transfer of your email address outside the EU, covered by the mechanisms required by European law (Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable).
You can unsubscribe at any time using the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending you anything and remove your email from the active list.
7. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Game saves and progress | On your device, until you delete the app or the data yourself |
| Newsletter email and preferences | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to; then removed from the active list within a reasonable period |
| Website campaign labels | Date and campaign label, without IP address or identifiers, for six months |
We do not keep data "just in case." Website campaign labels are deleted after six months.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, as well as to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting what we did before).
- To exercise them, email info@boletsalavista.cat.
- If you think we've handled things wrongly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), www.aepd.es. Users in other EU countries may also contact their local supervisory authority.
9. Children and parents
- The app asks for no personal data at all, so a child can play without giving any information.
- The website newsletter is for adults only (18+). If you are a minor, please don't sign up on your own — ask a responsible adult to do it for you. If we discover we've collected a child's email, we will delete it.
- For users in the United States, we apply the principles of the COPPA children's privacy law: we do not collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
- Parents: if you have any question, or want to review or delete data relating to your child, email us at info@boletsalavista.cat.
10. Achievements (Game Center / Google Play Games)
If you have Game Center (Apple) or Google Play Games (Google) enabled on your device, the game may record achievements (for example, "you found 10 different species").
- Your player identity and account are managed by Apple or Google, not by us.
- We only send the platform the identifier of the achievement you earned. We do not receive or store your name, your email, or any identifier of yours.
- The platform service's processing of this data is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy, as applicable.
- You can turn Game Center or Google Play Games off in your device settings at any time.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change anything, we'll update the date above. If the change is significant (for example, if we start collecting some new data), we'll explain it clearly before it takes effect.
